WOMEN’S DIVISION
TUSSOCK CREEK BRANCH There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Tussock Creek branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mrs W. Shaw presided. Mrs E. M. Collinson gave a report on the last executive meeting. Misses P. Smith and H. Shaw were nominated to represent the branch at the Girls’ Educational Week. The roll call was: “The first dress I remember wearing, and why.” Mr Kingston and Mr Wood demonstrated an electric washing machine and ironer, and were accorded a vote of thanks.
The day’s competitions resulted: Best bloom, Mrs W. Lightfoot 1, Mrs Webb 2, Miss P. Smith 3; jar of preserved pears. Mrs W. Shaw 1, Mrs J. Macpherson 2, Miss P. Smith 3. Mrs P. Adamson and Misses I. and O. were the hostesses.
