30 ENTRIES FOR CHATHAM CUP (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 23. Thirty entries from seven centres had been received for this year’s Chatham Cup competition, said the secretary, Mr A. Williams, at tonight’s meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Association. The' entries were:— Wellington (eight).—Seatoun, Diamond, Petone, Swifts, Hospital, Marist, Waterside, Miramar Rangers. Auckland (eight).—Comrades, Ponsonby, Abels, Thistle, Metro College, Y.M.C.A., Eastern Suburbs, Grey Lynn. Canterbury (four).—Nomads, St. Albans, Thistle, Western. Otago (three).—Mosgiel, Northern, Maori Hill.
Wanganui (one). —Athletic. Buller (one). —Thistle. South Auckland (five). —Hamilton Wanderers, Claudelands Rovers. Glen Afton, Huntly Star, Rotowaro. The following programme for the competition was approved:— July 15.—Local finalists to be found in all centres.
July 22.—Auckland winner v. South Auckland winner, at Auckland. July 22.—Wellington winner v. Wanganui, at Wellington. July 22.—Canterbury winner v. Buller, at Christchurch. August s.—Auckland or South Auckland v. Wanganui, or Wellington, at Auckland or Hamilton. August 19.—Otago winner v. Buller or Canterbury, at Christchurch. September 2.—North Island winner v. South Island winner in final at Basin Reserve, Wellington.
