DR BRUNKMANN RETIRES
ORDERS OF FUHRER REFERENCE TO INFERIOR MATERIAL RESOURCES BERLIN, May 11. Dr Otto Brinkmann, Secretary of State-to the Ministry of Economics, has retired at Herr Hitler’s orders on the grounds of ill-health. He has also been removed from the board of the Reichsbank. In a recent speech at Cologne Dr Brinkmann declared that Germany was paying for a single gun of inferior quality a price sufficient for 10 guns. Her raw material resources were of such inferior quality as to threaten the national economy. “What tise are guns without ammunition?” he said. “What use are aeroplanes without fuel? What use is an army that is not properly fed?”
