ROYAL LINER IN FOG
Delay Of More Than 17 Hours QUEEN BUYS DOLLS FOR PRINCESSES (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received May 12, 10.35 p.m.) LONDON, May 12. Fog brought the Empress of Australia, on which the King and Queen are travelling to Canada and the United States, to a standstill for more than 17 hours, but did not interfere with the ship’s normal routine. The Queen, wearing a yellow woolly coat and fawn felt hat, visited the ship’s shop and bought sailor dolls for Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret Rose. Afterwards she walked the deck with the King, who was smoking his pipe. The King and Queen attended the ship’s cinema after dinner. At midnight, ship’s time, the Empress of Australia was 360 miles southeastwards of Cape Race.
