BRITISH ASSISTANCE TO CHINESE
CONDEMNATION BY PUPPET GOVERNMENT NANKING, March 30. A joint commission of the Peiping and Nanking Puppet Governments has issued a statement denouncing the financial assistance to the Chinese Com-mander-in-Chief (Marshal Chiang Kaishek) from Britain and other countries. It declares: “Such assistance only serves to disturb peace in the Far East and the horrors imposed on the Chinese masses. If it continues both Governments will be compelled to abandon their efforts to maintain friendly relations with the foreign Powers concerned and to respect their rights and interests in China. All loans and other agreements between Marshal Chiang Kai-shek and third Powers are considered null and void.”
