BIG YARDING AT OTAUTAU FIRM MARKET YESTERDAY The biggest yarding of sheep at Otautau this season was penned for the stock sale yesterday. There was a fair attendance of farmers, who bid keenly up to late values. The market opened firmly and continued so right throughout the sale. There was a keen demand for young ewes and ewe lambs. /The best'Romney, two-tooth ewes made up : to 35/10, good from 32/- to 33/-, medium from 29/- to 31/- and small up to 27/-. The best soundmouth ewes sold up to 27/3, good from 20/- to 22/-, fair from 17/- to 18/6, failing from 12/- to 14/-, broken mouth from 8/- to 10/- and poorer sorts up to 2/6 ' , . The best Romney ewe lambs realized 24/3, good from 21/6 to 22/6, medium from 18/- to 19/- and smaller up to 16/-. Forward conditioned rape lambs brought from 14/6 to 16/-, with outstanding pens to 17/3, medium wether lambs from 11/- to 12/6 and smaller from 6/- to 8/-. Two and four-tooth wethers made from 17/6 to 20/-.

Heavyweight lambs are a shade easier while others are unchanged. The consumption continues to be good. Lightweight wethers are firmer while others are weaker and trade is quiet. Ewes are firmer on a better demand. The demand for frozen beef is slow and prices are a shade easier. Chilled beef prices are slightly firmer on lighter supplies. Lightweight New Zealand porker pigs are

easier and others are unchanged. Trade Is quiet while New Zealand baconer pigs are firmer on account of limited supplies.
