SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The monthly meeting of the Edendale School Committee was attended by Messrs W. McKenzie (chairman), M. D. Turner, R. Paterson, W. Kennedy, A. Botting, E. Christianson and R. Caldwell (secretary). Mr McKenzie stated that he wished to be relieved of his position as chairman, as because of increased activities on his farm, he felt he was not now able to do full justice to his position. The resignation was accepted with regret, members expressing appreciation of Mr McKenzie’s services as chairman, and adding that they hoped his services would soon be available on the committee. Mr Kennedy was unanimously elected to fill the vacancy. The cutting of the grass at the back of the school was left to Mr McKenzie for attention. A letter of commendation is to be sent to the head master on the behaviour of the pupils going home from school. Messrs McKenzie and Paterson were appointed the visiting committee for the month.
