MATCH AT RYAL BUSH In a return tennis match between the two recently formed clubs, Technical Old Students and Ryal Bush, played at Ryal Bush, the home team was beaten by nine sets to seven. The visitors met a greatly improved team, which thoroughly deserved its success in the seven sets. Results, with Ryal Bush names mentioned first, are as follows:— Men’s Singles.—Patterson beat R. McArthur, 7-3; Allen lost to P. Insall, 3-7; Kennedy lost to W. Weeds, 5-7;,V. Clark beat A. G. Brash, 7-5.
Women’s Singles.—Miss Milne lost to Miss Kennedy, 2-7; Miss Buxton beat Miss Clarkson, 7-6; Mrs Shaw lost to Miss James, 6-7; Mrs Kennedy lost to Miss Thomson, 6-7. Men’s Doubles.—Patterson and Allen lost to McArthur and Insall, 6-7; Kennedy and Clark beat Weeds and Brash, 7-6.
Women’s Doubles.—Miss Buxton and Milne lost to Misses Kennedy and Clarkson, 1-7; Mesdames Kennedy and Shaw beat Misses James and Thomson, 7-2.
Mixed Doubles.—Patterson and Miss Milne lost to McArthur and Miss Kennedy, 3-7; Allen and Miss Buxton lost to Insall and Miss Clarkson, 4-7; Kennedy and Mrs Shaw beat Weeds and Miss James, 7-6; Clark and Mrs Kennedy beat Brash and Miss Thomson, 7-5.
