HIGH SCHOOL GAMES AT TIMARU (United Press Association) TIMARU, March 16. The annual cricket matches between the first and second elevens of the Timaru and Waitaki Boys’ High Schools were begun at Timaru today. In the senior game Timaru made 125 (G. Williams 34) and Waitaki replied with 117 (A. Millar 19, R. Millar 19, B. Robertson 16, R. Magon 15). At stumps Timaru had 39 on without loss. In the junior game Timaru made 271 (D. Paton 116, A. Mouat 42) and Waitaki at stumps had lost five wickets for 33 runs. SOUTHLAND WOMEN MEET OHAI GOOD BATTING DISPLAY At the Ohai Domain a game of cricket was played between the Southland women’s team and Ohai. The women, who declared with nine wickets down for 183 runs, gave a splendid display, which was greatly appreciated by the big crowd which saw the game. Miss M. Maley, in a good knock of 83 runs, had a chanceless innings, which included 12 fours. Miss E. Blackie also batted well to make 30. Mr W. R. Patrick was in charge of the team and fielded, but did not bat. Ohai replied with 171 for eight wickets, Mackay being the top scorer 53, while Luke compiled 33. Miss E.
