FRESH HOPE IN WAR ON CANCER
INVENTION OF MACHINE TO SPLIT ATOM MELBOURNE, March 14. Mr Alfred Webb-Johnson, one of the world’s foremost surgeons, stated that fresh hope in the fight against cancer had been aroused by the invention of a cyclotron machine for splitting the atom to obtain enormous power from radio-active discharges.
