MAGISTRATE DISMISSES CASE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 6. The question whether asking a man in a street for a loan constitutes begging was decided by Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court when a defendant pleaded not guilty to being idle and disorderly in that he placed himself in a public place for the purpose of begging alms. After evidence had been heard the case was dismissed. A constable stated he saw the accused, accosting men in the street and a young' man said the accused had stopped him and asked him for a loan of 5/-.
