GAMING RAIDS IN WELLINGTON
FOUR CHINESE AND FIVE EUROPEANS IN COURT (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 6. Four Chinese and five Europeans arrested in gaming raids on Saturday evening appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today. Ah Wong, aged 54, a gardener, pleaded guilty to using his premises in Vivian street, of which he is occupier, as a common gaming house and was fined £2O. Michael Joseph Cain, aged 63, a labourer, and Alfred Thomas Milner, aged 35, a painter, were each fined £2 for being on the premises. Willie Yee, a laundryman similarly charged to Ah Wong about Taranaki street premises, was fined £5O. Chin Yee Lim, aged 41, a laundry man, Giovenni Calvini, waterside worker, Henry James McKenzie, aged 51, a cook, Tse Ku Fay, aged 44, fruiterer, and John Tito, aged 37, a seaman, were each fined £2 for being on the premises.
