“TWO-TON” GALENTO UNDER SUSPICION DETROIT, February 5. “Two-Ton” ’Tony Galento’s prospects of meeting Joe Louis, heavyweight boxing champion of the world, have suffered a setback as a result of the Michigan Boxing Commission’s action in questioning the honesty of his defeat of Natie Brown last Friday. The commission suspended Galento and banned Brown for life. The critics consider Galento is merely a second-rate but picturesque fighter being “ballyhooed” into prominence. Nevertheless he is the National Boxing Association’s choice as first contender for the heavyweight title.
