JUDGES FOR FLOWER SHOW WINTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY It was reported at a meeting of the Winton and District Horticultural Society that the following persons had consented to act as judges in the various sections: Mr P. A. Thomson, Waikiwi (cut flowers); Mrs B R Curson, Invercargill (floral decorations); Mrs M. C. Derbidge, Invercargill (fruit and vegetables); Mrs C. P. Dalrymple, Waianiwa (cookery); Miss More, Riverton (industrial); Mrs A Gerrard, Winton (art); Mr T. Walker, Winton (photography). It was decided that entries be invited for the championship in glqdioli, six spikes, exhibition type, separate varieties. BOWLS The final of the men’s singles championship of the Central Bowling Club is to be played between W. Balch and R. Balch. W. Balch won the first life and R. Balch won the second life by beating C. Hughes in the semi-final and J. Harvey in the final. The doubles championshf.p of the Central Club has begun and the results ,so far are as follows:—H. A. Pierce and N. Metzger beat F. Tilley and A. Fearn, and S. Smith and J. Ledgerwood; W. Balch and T. Darnill beat C. Hughes and R. Balch; F. Tilley and A. Fearn beat W. White and L. Brumby.
