CHARGES AGAINST PRISON ESCAPEE

(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 15. Allan Roy Duff, who escaped from the Witako Prison by taking up the floorboards of his cell and travelling to Wellington in a converted car, today pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody, the unlawful conversion of a car and breaking and entering the shop of A. Whittaker in Molesworth street and stealing a pair of trousers, a sports coat and lumber jacket of a total value of £3 16/3. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
