JAPAN’S LEADERS “WORRIED MEN”
Opinion Of British Soldier SUCCESS OF CHINESE TACTICS (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received December 15, 7.50 p.m.) SINGAPORE, December 15. Japan’s army commanders are worried men, according to Major-General A. W. Bartholomew, General Officer Commanding the British Forces in China, who is going to London. “If Marshal Chiang Kai-shek continues to draw the Japanese inland they will find it increasingly difficult to maintain their communications,” he said. “Japan cannot afford indefinitely to .keep a large standing army in China. Japan will never win while Marshal Chiang Kai-shek is head of the Chinese Government."
