WHIPPET RACING
RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S EVENTS The Invercargill Whippet Club held its meeting at Oteramika road on Saturday before a fair attendance. The racing was very keen throughout the day. Results: , Extended Nursery, 150 yards.—Mrs W. S. Mill’s Happy King 1, J. Tathams Bing Crosby 2, H. J. Keenan’s Ginger Jack 3. Won by half a-length, a head between second and third. Also started Charmaine and Gold Nugget Novice Handicap, 200 yards.—J. Flynn’s Daring Deed 1, E. McCarthy s Hot Speed 2, B. Boiven’s Blue Dragoon 3. Won by two lengths, a length between second and third. Also started, Silver Slipper and Half and Half. Second Class Handicap, 200 yards.— F. Checketts’s Princess Fairy 1, L. Rayner’s Osborne Beauty 2, J. Winders’s Mr G 3. Won by a neck, a length between second and third. Also started, Nugget. , Open Handicap, 200 yards.—S. Wills s Jean Batten 1, J. Tatham’s Madam Min 2 J. Gellatly’s War Pixie 3. Won by one length and a-half, a length between second and third. Also started, Mr G. Maiden Hurdles, 200 yards.—J. Winders's Mr G 1. All the other dogs were disqualified for jumping out of their tapes. Also started, Suncup Biddy, Blue Dragoon, Suncup Sandy.
