FIRST SCOUT PROMISE EMPHASIZED
LONDON, November 25. The Deputy Chief Scout (Lord Somers) has circulated a notice reaffirming the first Scout promise: “I promise on my honour to do my best to do my duty to God,” emphasizing that a Scout cannot belong to any organization denying the existence of God.
An official said the message was regarded as necessary in the present troubled state of the world and the growth of the anti-God movement. He explained that no specific . incident prompted the statement.
