DUKE EXPECTED TO RETURN

DUCHESS PREPARED TO FORGO ROYAL RANK (Received November 27, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 26. The Paris correspondent of The Manchester Guardian says the visit of the Prime Minister (Mr Neville Chamberlain) and the Foreign Secretary (Viscount Halifax) to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor has marked a new development, brought about, it is understood, by a decision taken by the Duchess. She is no longer concerned about the title and rank of Royal Highness, on which she previously insisted as her right. As this was the only important question delaying the return of the Duke and Duchess, it is now expected that they will shortly visit England and later may take up residence in London.
