THE WEATHER BECOMING UNSETTLED
(Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, November 24. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate northerly winds predominating. Weather becoming unsettled. Mild temperatures. Seas slight to moderate. Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather fair to cloudy generally at first, but becoming unsettled in western districts and the far north and south, with scattered rains developing. Later becoming more general. Temperatures mild to warm. General Situation.—An anticyclone is centred to the north-east of the Dominion, while a shallow, but complex, depression covers the central and southern Tasman Sea. Winds.—Between north-east and north-west, mainly moderate to fresh in force, but becoming strong tomorrow in some exposed positions. Seas.—New Zealand waters, rather rough about Cook Strait and on east coast of the North Island, elsewhere slight to moderate; eastern Tasman Sea, moderate fresh winds, between northeast and north-west, with moderate seas. A return to more seasonal weather was experienced in Invercargill yesterday. Bright sunshine in the morning was followed by a cooler afternoon, during which the sky was overcast. Light rain fell for a short time in the evening. , . . At one o’clock this morning the weather was warm and mild, and the sky was overcast.
