EIGHT EARTHQUAKES RECORDED
ALL OF DOMINION ORIGIN (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 24. The seismographs at the Dominion Observatory yesterday recorded eight earthquakes of Dominion origin. The tally started at 5.33 a.m. with a slight earthquake in Hawke’s Bay, about 140 miles from Wellington. At 1.23 p.m. one of the most severe for some time was recorded, originating about 100 miles away near Wanganui. There an undulating tremor was followed by a severe jolt. The disturbance was felt over a wide area. The force was six on. the Rossi Forel scale. Six further shocks were recorded in. this .earthquake at 3.47, 8.5, 9.30, 11.5, 11,18 and 11.55 p.m. All were very light except that at 11.5, which was quite strong and was felt at Wellington.
