CENTENNIAL SCOUT JAMBOREE

MR WILSON TO REPRESENT LORD BADEN-POWELL (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 24. Mr J. S. Wilson, camp chief at Gilwell Park, the London training centre of the Boy Scout Association, has been appointed to represent the World Chief Scout (Lord Baden-Powell of Gilwell) and Imperial headquarters at the New Zealand Centennial Jamboree to be held at Heretaunga, Hutt Valley, at the end of next year. The Chief Scout is not coming. Next to the Chief Scout Mr Wilson is regarded as the second important figure in the scout movement today. The jamboree headquarters has received advice from London that Mr Wilson will be attending the jamboree and will possibly be accompanied by a number of English scouts.
