UNOCCUPIED STORE GUTTED BY FIRE
1000 OLD MOTOR TYRES IN BUILDING (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 25. A spectacular fire tonight gutted an unoccupied tyre' store at the corner of Normanby road and Kohekohe street, Mount Eden. The building was a twostory wooden structure and held almost 1000 old motor tyres used by the firm formerly occupying the premises for the manufacture of rubber mats. The store was ablaze from end to end when two brigades arrived and flames issuing from the eaves threatened a wooden dwelling at the back. Although the fire had a good hold on both stories it was well under control within 10 minutes of the bridges’ arrival.
