CANADIAN WOMEN WIN IRISH SWEEP
COAL MINER’S WIFE AND WORKING GIRL VANCOUVER, October 26. Two Canadian women won £30,000 each in the Irish sweepstake. Mrs Don Sutton, wife of a British Columbia coal miner, was perplexed for a nom-de-plume when a black cat entered her home and refused to leave. She signed “Black Cat.” Miss Dora Smith, a worker m a beauty salon in Ontario, bought a ticket against the reproof of her widowed mother, who spoke of extravagance.
