STOCK EXCHANGE HOLIDAY
The Stock Exchanges of the Dominion observed a holiday yesterday, Labour Day, and there were no calls. SYDNEY (Received October 24, 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 24. Australian Glass shares provided the most outstanding movement on the Stock Exchange today, rising to the record price of £5 2/- and receding to £5 1/-. Beneficial rains in the country helped pastoral shares, but banks were less active.
MELBOURNE Today saw a quiet industrial market, although Australian Glass was much stronger. North Broken Hill shares were most active in the barrier section.
