FRIENDLY SOCIETIES IN BRITAIN

The Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies in his annual report gives a table of figures of small savings in registered provident societies in England. The table shows that the funds of the societies have risen from £250,000,000 at the end of 1913 to £1,550,000,000 at the end of 1936. There was an increase of £107,000,000 during 1936.
