FAIR TO CLOUDY (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, October 7. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly winds. Weather mainly fair in the east, and cloudy in the west and along the coast, with scattered rain. Temperatures rising. Seas rather rough. Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather changeable, with passing showers at many places and some hail, but improving soon from the south. Temperatures cool, but rising tomorrow. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was unsettled. There was astrong wind throughout the day and heavy showers fell at intervals. At one o’clock - this morning the weather was fine, though there was a cold wind. The barometer readings for the last three mornings have been as follows:— This morning 29.92 in. Friday 29.36 in. Thursday 29.45 in.
