PLAQUE AWARDED TO GERMAN VESSEL
RESCUE OF CREW OF BRITISH STEAMER (British Official Wireless) (Received August 12, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, August 11. The Board of Trade has awarded a silver plaque to the German motorvessel Wilhelm Gustloff in recognition of its rescue of the crew of the British steamer Pegaway when the latter foundered about 25 miles north-west of the Terschelling light on April 4 during a gale of hurricane force and in mountainous seas.
