FURTHER REMAND IN SYDNEY CASE (Received June 24, 8.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 24. Eric Campbell, Herbert William Lloyd and Richard Arthur Duesbury, who are charged with conspiracy to defraud, were further remanded till July 4.

A mild sensation in political and legal circles in Sydney was caused on June 9 by the arrest of three men: Eric Campbell, aged 45, a solicitor and a former leader of the New Guard; Brigadier-General Herbert William Lloyd, aged 54, member) of Parliament for Mosman in the Legislative Assembly; and Richard Arthur Duesbury, an accountant. They were charged that between August 1933 and May 1938 they conspired to cheat and defraud Dumonier Laboratories Limited of large sums of money and to defraud that company and other persons who should be entitled to enforce their rights to obtain payment of the unpaid capital of 19/- a share of 4500 shares. The men were released on bail of £5OO each.

In a city Court later Campbell, Lloyd and Duesbury were remanded till June 23.
