BRITISH SHIPS HIT BY SPLINTERS
MASTERS “DISGUSTED WITH GOVERNMENT” ' LONDON, May 1. Captain Scott, of the Stancroft, sistet ship of the Stanbrook, which was bombed on Saturday, reporting on the air raids on Barcelona, in which splinters struck the majority of the 12 ' British ships in the harbour, declared that the British masters were disgusted with the Government for not protesting against the trampling by Herr Hitler and Signor Mussolini on the British flag, which now ranked below the Panama ensign. The British steamer Surreybrook, which arrived at Port Vendres, reported that three unidentified aeroplanes attacked her east of .Barcelona, ineffectually dropping six bombs. The Surreybrook’s SOS brought French destroyers to the rescue.
