GUESTS FROM KING ZOG’S WEDDING KILLED ROME, May 1. ! An aeroplane when returning to Rome from Tirana crashed in the mountain, states a message from Formia. Nineteen persons were killed. The air liner struck Monte Maranola, 100 yards from the summit and rolled down in flames The corpses and debris were scattered for 100 yards. The passengers included Jafer Villa, the Albanian Minister to Rome, Samuel Brostoff, a British Jew who was returning from Palestine, an American, Helen Lindheim, guests at King Zog’s wedding, five Germans, an Argentinian and a Greek. The remainder were Italians including jewellers returning from Tirana after submitting jewellery for Queen Geraldine’s wedding presents. Gems valued at £20,000 are reported to have been destroyed.
