WINTON
NO PROGRESS BEING MADE SCHEME TO CONSTRUCT A SWIMMING POOL No progress is at present being made with the scheme to construct a swimming pool at Winton. Some time ago a letter was sent to the Railways Department requesting permission to use the railway reserve, should the executive decide that this would be the most suitable site for the pooj. So far no word has been received and until this reply comes to hand nothing further can be done about the scheme. In the meantime, advice has been received from the Minister of Labour (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong) stating that he was prepared to give 100 per cent, wages subsidy. Advice is also being awaited from the Government concerning further subsidies for the project. EUCHRE At the Returned Soldiers’ Association’s euchre tournament there were thirteen tables occupied. The women’s prize was won by Mrs E. Lorenz and the men’s by Mr J. Blackmun.
