GOOD GENERAL COMPETITION (Received May 2, 9.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 2. There was good general competition at the wool sales today. Continental sections predominated, especially French. Values were fully firm on the closing rates of last week. Shafty wools displayed a hardening tendency. Greasy Merino realized to 19. id. The offering consisted of 9165 bales, of which 8440 bales were sold, 414 privately.
