HAMILTON CUP MATCH In the first badminton match of the season for the Hamilton Cup last night Invercargill I defeated All Saints by 11 games 22 sets to one game 5 sets. Details were, All Saints names being mentioned first:— Women’s Doubles.—Misses Provan and Whyte lost to Miss Cutt and V. Henry 14-15,10-15; Miss Skelt and Mrs Dillon lost to Misses McCallum and Tansley 10-15, 15-10, 9-15; Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Braithwaite lost to Mrs Padget and Miss R. Henry 4-15, 7-15. Men’s Doubles.—Braithwaite and Mitchell beat McCallum and Dunne 15-12, 15-12; Boyd and Skelt lost to Thompson and Checketts 7-15, 3-15; Wren and Smith lost to Sleeman and Maxted 10-15, 17-16, 11-15. Mixed Doubles.—Braithwaite and Mrs Braithwaite lost to McCallum and Miss Tansley 7-15, 4—15; Mitchell and Mrs Mitchell lost to Thompson and Miss Cutt 8-15, 9-15; Boyd and Miss Skelt lost to Dunne and Miss McCallum 13-15, 3-15; Smith and Miss Whyte lost to Sleeman and Mrs Padget 6-15, 4-15; Wren and Mrs Provan lost to Maxted and Miss V. Henry 15-12,15-18, 6-15; Skelt and Mrs Dillon lost to Checketts and Miss R. Henry 5-15, 12-15.
