RUGBY FOOTBALL
SOUTHLAND UNION’S MEETING FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY The management committee of the Southland Rugby Union met last evening. There were present: Messrs L. R. Lopdell (president), H. S. Strang, T. R. Pryde, P. P. Meffin, A. J. Geddes, C. A. Kerse, W. Baird, A. H. Courtis, E. H. Diack, H. J. Brown, W. A. H. Oliver, and N. R. Brown. Mr F. Chisholm, secretary of the Southern District Sub-Union, wrote applying for registration of the Tahakopa Football Club, South Otago, in the Southern Sub-Union. “We have admitted them for one year to see how the arrangement works,” said the letter. It was agreed that the registration be granted, provided there was no objection from the Otago Union. The following transfers were granted: —F. Latham, Pirates to Bluff; L. Sutherland, Bannockburn to Invercargill; T. Hogan, Star to Marist; E. Fitzgerald, Albion to Marist; A. R. Murdoch, Albion to Pirates; H. Geersten, Stratford to Invercargill; T, Robertson, Otara to Pirates. The following teams were withdrawn from competition:—Star fifth grade team and Old Boys fourth grade B team. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY The following fixtures were approved:— Senior.—Star v. Invercargill, at Rugby Park at 1.30 p.m.; Marist v. Pirates, at Rugby Park at 2.15 pm.; Old Boys V. Bluff, at Rugby Park at 3 p.m. Second Grade.—Collegiate v. Marist, at Tweed street at 2 p.m.; Star v. Pirates, at Biggar street No. 4 at 3 p.m.; Old Boys v. Invercargill, at Biggar street No. 5 at 2.30 p.m. Third Grade.—High School v Borstal, at Borstal at 1.45 pm.; Old Boys v. Waikiwi, at School No. 2 at 2 p.m.; Collegiate v. Pirates, at Biggar street No. 2 at 2 p.m.; Bluff v. Star, at Bluff at 2.45 p.m.; Invercargill a bye. Fourth Grade.—lnvercargill v. Technical, at Biggar street No. 4 at 1.30 p.m.; Old Boys A v. High School, at School No. 1 at 1.45 p.m.; Marist v. Waikiwi, at South Domain at 2.15 p.m.; Pirates v. Collegiate, at Biggar street No. 3 at 2 p.m.; Star a bye. Fifth Grade.—lnvercargill v. Pirates, at Bain Park at 2 p.m.; High School v. Marist, at School No. 3 at 1.45 p.m.; Technical a bye.
