CIVIL SERVANTS AT RIVERTON
FINE WEATHER FOR PICNIC The Civil Service picnic was held at The Rocks, Riverton, on Wednesday in fine weather. There was an attendance of 150. The following are the results of the sports events held:— Men’s mixed shoe race: J. A. Raymond (Power Supply) 1, L. Uttley (Public Works Department) 2. Women’s mixed shoe race: Miss A. McDonald (Public Trust) 1, Mrs Breayley 2. Departmental relay: Public Trust 1. Men's 100 yards open: J. A. Alcorn (Public Trust) 1, J. Stevenson (Public Trust) 2, E. Jones (Power Supply) 3. Young women’s race: Miss A. McDonald (Public Trust) 1, Miss L. Mehaffey (Public Trust) 2. Married women’s race: Mrs Allison 1, Mrs R. B. Williams 2. Power Supply Cup: E. Jones 1, H. Donaldson 2. Hop, step and jump (men): J. Louden (State Advances) 1; (women), Miss Mehaffey (Public Trust) 1. Shot Putt: R. Watts (Public Works Department) 1. J. A. Alcorn (Public Trust) 2. Tug-of-war: Power Supply A 1, Public Works Department A 2.
