TEMPORARY SCHOOL BUILDING While the school is being remodelled, the children are being taught in the racecourse buildings. Kettle (Limehills) spent the week-end at Dean Forest. Miss F. Findlay is visiting Christchurch. . Miss D. Stevens (Otautau) is the guest of Mrs W. Fowle. Mrs Ormond Gardner and Miss Nola Gardner are spending a holiday at Eglinton Valley. Miss Z. Bates (Invercargill) spent the week-end with her parents. GIFT EVENING A gift evening was held in the Clifden hall for Mr and Mrs James Dixon, jun., who were recently married. It took the form of a dance, the music for which was played by Mr and Mrs H. Lawrence, Mr James Dixon, sen., and Mr and Mrs T. Knowler. Mr R. Irwin was master of ceremonies. Mr D. O’Brien asked Mr and Mrs Dixon to accept the gifts with the best wishes of their friends. Mr T.
