WOMEN PLAYERS TO TOUR DOMINION VISIT TO GORE INCLUDED IN ITINERARY (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 24. Advice has been received by the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Association from the All England Women’s Hockey Association that the following team has been selected to tour New Zealand beginning in June:— GOAL—G. Huggins (Devon). BACKS—M. E. Collins (Sussex), M. Knott (Kent), I. Naylor (Warwick). HALF-BACKS.—B. Fairgrieve (Durham), M. I. Lodge (Gloucester), K. Thompson (Northumberland), O. Barnes (Lancashire). FORWARDS.—J. Dowling (Buckinghamshire), J. O’Donoghue (Devon), E. Shelmerdine (Gloucester), B. W. West (Sussex), J.- Wright (Northamptonshire), N. E. Judd (Kent). Miss E. J. Warwick will be manager of the team. One additional player still has to be selected.

July 21.—Wellington, Third Test. CROQUET MATCHES FOR FLEMING SHIELD Otautau played Southend’s senior croquet team on the latter’s lawns for the Fleming Shield, Southend winning by six games to three. Following arc the scores (Southend names first): — Doubles.—Mesdames Booth and Williamson beat Misses O’Brien and Shaw._ 26-24; Mesdaines Parfitt and Stone beat Mrs White and Miss Donnan, 26-16; Mrs Strang and Miss Manson beat Mrs Smart and Miss Hay, 26-13. Singles.—Mrs Booth lost to Miss O’Brien, 10-26; Mrs Williamson beat Miss Shaw, 26-19; Mrs Parfitt beat Mrs White, 26-16; Mrs Stone beat Miss Donnan, 26-22; Mrs Strang lost to Mrs Smart, 9-26; Miss Manson lost to Miss Hay, 12-26. Southend seniors also played Waihopai seniors on Waihopai lawns. Southend winning by six games to two.
