ARREST OF STAFF MEMBERS OF LEGATIONS IN MOSCOW

The latest purge is directed against Soviet citizens working for foreigners or foreign organizations. Among those arrested are M. Roman Biske, employed on legal translation work by the United States Embassy, the girl translator for the Danish Legation, and employees of several other legations. M. Biske, who is aged 50, was born in Leningrad, and went to England as a child. He graduated at Oxford and became a British subject. He returned to Russia after the revolution and acquired Soviet citizenship.
