BRITISH STEEL INDUSTRY
ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW WORKS IN WALES (British Official Wireless) (Received January 14, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, January 14. Sir William Firth, the head of the firm of Richard Thomas and Company, speaking at a reception marking the establishment of the company’s new works at Ebbw Vale, said he believed the new works would revitalize the whole steel sheet and tinplate trade of the country. The improved quality would hasten the expansion of the demand in the Home market and would protect the diminished percentage of world export trade from further encroachment.
