PROFESSIONAL TENNIS AS CAREER (Received January 12, 6.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 11. Mr James Johnston, the sporting promoter, revealed that he was negotiating with J. D. Budge, the leading amateur tennis player, to turn professional. He said he had cabled an offer to Budge and received the following reply: “Offer sounds good.
