INTERNATIONAL FUND SUGGESTED
GOLD RESERVES AS BASIS OF CONTRIBUTIONS NEW YORK, December 26. According to th 6 Brussels correspondent of The New York Times, a most reliable source confirms the belief that the report by Dr Paul van Zeeland, the Belgian economist who was Prime Minister until recently, on his economic survey will propose an international fund to which the Powers will contribute in the proportion of their gold reserves. The United States would be the largest contributor and Germany would contribute virtually nothing.. The purpose would be to stabilize currencies, the nations agreeing to abolish exchange controls and clearing quotas. It is believed that the report will suggest that the plan be tried first by five Powers in conference, Britain, the United States, France, Germany and Italy. '
