BRADMAN AND BADCOCK SCORE WELL

MELBOURNE, December 21. In a Sheffield Shield cricket match Victoria beat Queensland by an innings and 95 runs. Queensland followed on with the second innings and made 212 (W. Brown 12, Coats 46, Tallon 31, Baker 43; Sieves three for 40, Fleet-wood-Smith three for 101). At Adelaide New South Wales beat South Australia by 33 runs. South Australia in the second innings made 191 (Badcock 77, Bradman 62; O’Reilly five for 57, O’Brien three for 58). Badcock and Bradman were unconquered at the lunch adjournment but the partnership was broken after lunch by O’Brien, who got Badcock’s wicket, after which O’Reilly got Bradman’s, Then followed a procession which enabled New South Wales to gain an outright victory. O’Brien caught the eye ,of the selectors for the English tour.
