MINISTER EXPELLED BY PARTY
ACCEPTANCE OF PORTFOLIO AT CANBERRA MELBOURNE, December 7. The Minister for the Interior (Mr John McEwan) has been expelled from the Victorian Country Party, the grounds being his failure to observe the party rules in accepting a portfolio in Mr J. A. Lyons’s Ministry and lack of loyalty to the party’s endorsed parliamentary candidates at the Federal election. LABOUR STILL A MINORITY IN SYDNEY COUNCIL SYDNEY, December 7. The counting of the primary votes in the City Council election indicates the return of the Civic Reform Party with an unaltered majority of 12 opposed to the same Labour minority of eight.
