RUSSIAN VETERINARY SURGEONS EXECUTED

Nine veterinary surgeons were executed at Irkutsk for spying and wrecking on behalf of a foreign Power, spreading foot-and-mouth disease and deliberately starving animals. Their activities resulted in the destruction of 108,000 head of cattle in 1936.
