RIMU

WOMEN’S DIVISION There was a big attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Rimu branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mrs C. Bulling presided. It was reported that a gift of £2 2/had been sent to the house-keeping funds. Later the meeting was put in charge of the junior members, Miss J. Bell taking the chair. Competitions were held and a dialogue was staged by some of the members. Miss Jessie Stewart gave a demonstration of making silk toilet mats. Both competitions were won by Mrs Barnett. Other competition results were:— Bloom competition: Mrs Little 1, Miss J. Shand 2. Collection of pastry: Miss M. Emerson 1, Mrs W. Stewart 2. The roll call was: “If I were an old maid.” The hostesses for the afternoon were Misses D. Stewart and L. Todd.
