TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

INVERCARGILL STATISTICS Thirty-one persons were injured in traffic accidents in Invercargill between March and November, two being killed and five seriously injured, according to a statement issued by the Commissioner of Transport (Mr G. L. Laurenson). Half of the total accidents were collisions between motor-vehicles and cyclists, a relatively high percentage for New Zealand cities. Both of the fatalities involved pedestrians and both occurred between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. These statistics do not include collisions in which the persons concerned escaped without injury.
