Cowie presided over a small attendance at a meeting of the Balfour Miniature Rifle Club held recently ' . , r ± , A letter was received from the Southland Miniature Rifle Club Association about the purchase of 1.C.1. ammunition and it was decided to order 5000 rounds. The secretary was instructed to write to the association to arrange for spread delivery for the season. EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE The members of the Anglican Church Committee held another very successful euchre party and dance in the memorial hall recently. Mrs W. Tregonning won the women’s prize and Miss F. Sheed won the women’s aggregate prize. Mr L. Leith won the men’s prize and Mr H. Moir the men’s aggregate. The door prize was won by Mrs H. Horrell and Miss M. Joyce won the competition.
