FAILURE TO PAY POLL TAX

JUDGMENT GIVEN AGAINST LAUNCH OWNER Reserved decision in the case in which Frederick Henry Wohlers Traill, of Stewart Island, was proceeded against by the Half Moon Bay and Horse Shoe Bay Harbour Board for failure to pay poll tax on passengers carried in his launch was given yesterday by the Magistrate (Mr W. H. Freeman). Defendant was convicted and ordered to pay court costs, 10/-, and solicitor’s fee, £1 11/6.
