Hundreds are reported to have been injured, including the Belgian ConsulGeneral, who suffered a broken leg, and other important officials and diplomats, in the collapse of a grandstand at a military parade. The crash occurred when the spectators after rising in unison to salute a passing detachment sat down simultaneously. There -is an official censorship and the public have not been informed of the extent of the accident and those injured. There were 5000. spectators on the grandstand, including . high-placed diplomats. It crumpled into the arena without warning. Many of those injured suffered broken legs and arms. The parade was suspended and the troops assisted in rescuing the victims.
